Wishing all our souperholics a souperlicious start to a great year!
The Lunar New Year is one of the most important holidays for the Chinese here in Singapore. This celebration is also known as the Spring Festival because the start of the Chinese New Year also marks the beginning of spring. This year, CNY falls on 8th February Monday, and thus, we will be able to celebrate with an extended weekend and long holiday! It is a time for family reunions where we will be visiting our parents and elderly relatives to wish them great health and good fortune. Children will receive blessings and words of wisdom from the elders, as well as their favourite red packets or Ang Pow! Central to the celebration are the reunion meals where loved ones gather over a meal filled with choicest seafood delicacies and platters of auspicious and symbolic dishes. This Chinese New Year, we will be featuring four Asian-inspired soups and stews to welcome the Spring Festival on a healthy note!
We had been really busy this last month welcoming 2 new stores into our TSS family @ Nanyang Technological University and at the newly opened Waterway Point in Punggol. It is our first foray into schools and we feel very blessed for the love and soupport from the NTU community.
At Waterway Point Punggol, we are absolutely stoked with our collaboration with the good folks at Joe&Dough, serving artisan coffee to our customers in The Soup Spoon Union. This is hopefully gonna be the first of many such partnership.
To help you celebrate reunion at home, we have also put together a menu of a la carte premium seafood items and festive Reunion Sets, on top of our CNY bestsellers of Collagen and Kimchi Soup Stocks.
A happy and healthy new year, from our kitchen to yours!
